'VERNIERS', by description, are plastic inserts fitted to the top spline of all ceramic 1/4 turn valves, as factory fitted to the Original Franke Triflow Taps, Perrin and Rowe Filter taps and Perrin and Rowe two way taps. (NOT FRANKE FILTERFLOW)

The Verniers have more than one purpose.

  • • The number of splines of the Vernier internally are different to the number of splines externally, this gives micro adjustment to keep the levers or cross head handles upright and equally balanced to each other and also gives a dampened smooth operation, rather than the more common brands of taps that are metal handle to metal valve.

  • • The Vernier is also an intermediary device that absorbs any wear from the continuous use of the handles, wear is inevitable over years of continuous use, so replacing a low priced Vernier has got to be an inexpensive and better option than changing the valve or the handle.



If you have an older Franke Triflow Tap, Perrin and Rowe tap or Avilion Tap you may have grey or black inserts, be assured the white verniers are as fitted today and will be compatible.

PLEASE NOTE

The replacement of the Verniers will only address the problem of loose handles that may be slipping on the splines, they will NOT stop the tap from dripping, to correct this problem you will need to purchase new valves, these come complete with new Verniers (DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BUY VALVES FROM OTHER SUPPLIERS THAT DO NOT COME WITH NEW VERNIERS, IT WILL BE A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND THEY WILL PROBABLY NOT BE COMPATIBLE) - click here to view and purchase replacement valves.
